Well done! And fair! So you can work, volunteer or enroll in a training program. Yes indeed, Ohio needs to bring this here.

It is perhaps a fault of our system that when one loses their job it is hard to find another. Especially when one is not awarded unemployment. So of course they are seeking welfare. By stating it is a mentality that has been passed down thru the generations is in itself proof that our current system here in Ohio and in other states is not working. I’ve been down this road and had to fight for my unemployment. Looking for work is in itself full-time employment but I did it everyday. I also got involved in my community and took training for a different vocation. The intent of this is that to just take the assistance without a game plan to look for new employment or a new vocation or networking is a flaw. At least this program tries to steer recipients in a direction to be self sustainable. That is what the true intent of Welfare should be. – SETII 04/11/15
